Responsible Care Programme for European chemical land transport

News

19 European transport companies have signed up to the Responsible Care programme of the European Chemical Transport Association

19 chemical transport companies officially declared their participation in Responsible Care at the annual conference of the European Chemical Transport Association (ECTA) held in Barcelona this week.

CEOs of all 19 ECTA member companies signed a declaration of commitment as well as a Responsible Care implementation agreement.

“This is a strong commitment from our membership to Responsible Care. It marks a milestone in the 10 years history of our organisation”, said Antonio Montero, ECTA president and CEO of Panalon.

Rose-Marie Pype, ECTA Logistics Manager, presented the Responsible Care programme and implementation guide developed by ECTA specifically for the chemical land transport sector.

ECTA is the first chemical transport association to launch a European-wide Responsible Care programme based on a partnership agreement with the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic), signed last October.

“Many leading chemical groups use Responsible Care as their main contribution and guidance to sustainable development in order to develop their business for the longer term” said Cathy Demeestere, ECTA’s Secretary General.
