Amsterdam floating terminal trial

Holland’s Mercurius Shipping group and the port authority of Amsterdam are to carry out trials using the geared container barge MERCURIUS AMSTERDAM – its AMS type barge built in 2006 (see WorldCargo News April 2004, p18) – as a floating hub terminal for smaller barges. The trials will be organised by MCT-Lucassen, a Mercurius affiliate, and will involve regular shuttle services using the smaller Neokemp motor barge KUBE HOPPER.
