Carriers to exit Oceania trades

A combination of intense competition, modest cargo volumes, massive over-tonnaging and falling freight rates is resulting in a number of operators questioning their presence in the trades linking Asia with Australia and New Zealand. Reportedly, both Seoul-based Hanjin Shipping Company and Tokyoheadquartered NYK Line are to terminate their services.
