Marshall Islands adopts new PMSC standard

The Maritime Safety Committee held its 108th session in London, addressing maritime safety and security for passenger and cargo ships.

The IMO’s Legal Committee addressed matters spanning ship operation liability, seafarer rights, and safety issues at sea, including fraudulent ship registration, MASS, and the 2010 HNS Protocol.

FAL 48 approved the revised MASS roadmap, discussed the cybersecurity concerning Maritime Single Window, and approved new guidelines on Port Community Systems.

The website actively encourages other data providers to join this collaborative effort, thereby expanding the breadth and depth of information available.

MEPC 81 agreed on an illustration of a possible draft outline of an “IMO net-zero framework” for cutting greenhouse gas emissions from international shipping.

The possible draft outline for the net-zero framework will be used as a starting point to consolidate the different proposals into a possible common structure.
