Port of Vancouver in 2023: A mixed year

With the BC port strike now in its second week, Canada’s Federal government has asked its mediator to recommend terms to end the impasse.

The port of Vancouver in Washington State is seeking Statements of Interest (SOIs) from companies that want to develop a new bulk facility. The port is offering the opportunity to develop a new facility on approximately 40 acres at Terminal 5. The site was previously part of a planned 100-acre facility to be developed by BHP Billiton to handle potash from the Jansen Mine in Saskatchewan.
