Louis Dreyfus Armateurs is reorganising its top management. As of January 1st 2022 Kamil Beffa will replace Gildas Maire as CEO. Mair, who has been with Dreyfus as CEO for more than 30 years , will become an Advisor to the Chairman of the group, Edouard Louis-Dreyfus. Beffa joined Dreyfus in 2019 as deputy CEO. Newly-appointed as Deputy CEOs are Antoine d’Anjou and Antoine Person. D’Anjou joined LDA in April 2021, having previously been with Technip and Systra. Person is a long-standing LDA staffer as has been General Secretary since 2003.
CMA CGM has appointed Romain Martimort as CCO, China. Martimort joined CMA CGM in 2013 and has held a number of management positions with the French carrier. His last post was regional office senior commercial manager and head of trade, Middle East, based in Dubai. Before joining CMA CGM he spent eight years working at the Hong Kong French chamber of commerce.
Raffaella del Prete has suddenly left her post as CEO of San Cataldo Container Terminal (Yilport Taranto) after just 21 months in post. According to a statement, her departure is by mutual consent, but it is understood there has been a clash over priorities between her and Yildirim Group. Up to now she has not announced any new position and, on the other hand, Yilport has not named a successor, even on an interim basis. SCCT started operations on part of the defunct TCT concession in July 2020. In H1 2021 it handled 17,600 TEU, compared to 5,512 TEU in H2 2020.
Oakland, CA, USA: A veteran lawyer involved in every major Port of Oakland project over the last 13 years has been named Port Attorney. The port appointed Mary Richardson, effective December 31, 2021, to succeed Michele Heffes, who is retiring. Ms Richardson, who joined the Port in 2008, had been Assistant Port Attorney.
Klemens Rethmann will step down as CEO of Rhenus Group at the end of this year, after 13 years in post, but will remain as Chairman of Rethmann SE Holding and thus continue to represent the family owners of the group. Tobias Bartz, who joined Rhenus is 2005 and became a member of the Management Board in 2015, responsible for air and ocean, will be the new CEO.
The Lower Saxony Ports Association (NHV – Niedersächische Hafenvertretung eV) has elected Michael de Reese, Managing Director of Cuxport GmbH in Cuxhaven, as its new Chairman. The following members have been confirmed to the Board: Uwe Jacob, Lower Saxony Ministry for Economics, Labour, Transport and Digitalization; John H Niemann, Wilhelmshavener Hafenwirtschaftsvereinigung eV (Wilhelmshaven Port Trade Association); and Michael Appelhans, Rhenus Midgard GmbH & Co KG Nordenham. Former NHV chairman Karsten Dirks of EVAG – Emder Verkehrs and Automotive Gesellschaft mbH Emden, was also elected to the Board. As Chairman of NHV, De Reese also takes the Chair of the Marketing Organization, Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH. Jan Müller of J Müller Brake rejoins the Supervisory Board. Finally, Sabrina Wendt, of the Agency for Economic Development of the City of Papenburg, was reelected as representative for the municipal ports of Leer, Oldenburg and Papenburg.
The Board of Nurminen Logistics in Finland has appointed Tuomas Kansikas as COO, in charge of the multimodal business unit and the group’s support functions. Kansikas, who will start his new job on 1 March, 2022, has more than 15 years of experience in the logistics and forwarding business and is joining Nurminen Logistics from DHL Global Forwarding Finland, where he was head of the airfreight business unit.
Rostock Port GmbH has appointed Götz Strahl as Manager, Sales and Marketing. Strahl is a former sailor and has also worked as a ship broker in the German Baltic ports and a former sales manager of the Port of Wismar. He takes over from Uwe Bäßgen, who has retired. The port has also appointed Claudia Bals as Manager, Legal and HR Affairs.
