USTR exempts STS crane orders arriving by May, 2026 from 25% tariff
NewsUnder new rules from the US Trade Representative, ship-to-shore cranes ordered before May 14, 2024, and arriving by May 14, 2026, will avoid a 25% tariff on imports from China.
Sany Port Equipment starts to target crane market
As reported in the December 2012 issue of WorldCargo News (p1), Sany Port Machinery is working on an order for a Panamax STS container crane from Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in Riga, a Hili group company. BCT already has Sany equipment in the shape of a reach stacker delivered last November. The crane is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2014 from China.
