Decent year for Hempel

The Port of Aalborg is looking for a new container terminal operator as Royal Arctic Line ends a 50-year relationship.

Denmark’s Port of Esbjerg has formed a partnership with technology company Honeywell to assist day-to-day management of the port’s carbon emissions, and develop methods for electrification, digitalisation and monitoring of energy consumption and emissions from all activities at the port.

Earlier this year, the Ensted Bulk Terminal (EBT) in the Port of Aabenraa in Denmark was purchased by the port’s owner, the town council (commune), in order to redevelop it for multiple bulk activities.

Hempel has launched a new activated zinc primer, Hempadur Avantguard 860, specifically designed to protect steel structures in moderate to severe corrosive environments, such as harbour cranes. The new product rounds out Hempel’s proprietary Avantguard range, launched in 2014 (WorldCargo News, October 2014, p39), with an SSPC Paint 20 level 1 product.
