CARB approves stack exhaust capture system

The UK Government is providing funding to the Port of Aberdeen for its “Shore Power in Operation” project that will see a large-scale landside and vessel-side shore power systems installed in the Scottish port’s North Harbour.

The Port of Valencia has issued a tender for an electrical substation to support shore power for vessels at berth.

To date, US-based Watts Marine, which is based in Kingston, Washington, has installed its shore power systems at seven North American ports.

Guidelines include provisions for indicating the class notation for vessels equipped with onboard CO2 capture and storage systems or designed as “ready” for their installation.

The Brest Defence Infrastructure Service Establishment has installed a unique shore power system equipped with converters from GE Power Conversion.

Wabtec is part of a consortium developing a megawatt-charging standard and infrastructure for ferries in European ports.
