Israel port reform moves on

Last month the Israeli government pushed through its controversial ports privatisation policy, after a “last minute” agreement was reached with labour unions on employment conditions for existing employees. The agreement, valid for five years, allows the reforms to proceed without the crippling strikes that marked earlier efforts to implement change at Israeli ports.
