Port of LA cuts China exposure
NewsThe Port of Los Angeles has decreased its business reliance on China from 57% in 2022 to the low-to-mid 40% by mid-2024, aiming to adapt to evolving trade policies and tariffs.
Despite China’s role in global trade and its share of maritimerelated activities increasing, the country’s own supply chains remain very costly and inefficient compared with many western and industrialised nations. This needs to change, and the government is actively working on a six-year plan (initiated in 2014) that will improve the nation’s logistics network and take costs out of the system.
