Zephir launches electric shunter…

Italy-based Zephir SpA has added a 100% electric-powered shunter to its established bimodal Lokotractor range. The first two units of the model Lok 4.90-E, with a drawbar pull of 50 kN and a capacity of 1000t on 0% grade (610t on 3% grade), have been ordered by Norwegian Rail. The battery charger is on board the vehicle and a cable reel system feeds into the mains.
