Hupac steady in 2014

Last year Swiss-based UIRR company Hupac transported 660,109 road shipments (approx. 1.32M TEU) by rail. While the core transalpine business was off marginally by 0.1%, the volume in east-west services increased by 3.4%, so the overall volume was up by 0.5%. Profit for the year rose by 15% to CHF7.5M (US$8.06M), although turnover fell by 0.7%. Investments of CHF16.7M in fixed assets were up 72.2% compared to 2013.
