Hutchison Ports Stockholm has announced a new service with a direct connection between Rotterdam and its terminal at Norvik will commence this November.

A new rail freight terminal for timber has opened in Rundvik, Swsseden. Financed by the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, the Swedish Transport Administration, the Västerbotten Region and the local Nordmaling Municipality, the SEK57M (US$6.6M) facility caters mainly for shipments made by SCA Forest.

Earlier this year, Hutchison Ports Sweden AB took delivery of the first ZPMC straddle carriers in the Western Hemisphere, for use at its new Norvik
container terminal (CTN) concession from Ports of Stockholm AB.

Gothenburg City Council, which owns the Port of Gothenburg, will provide SEK1.255B (€120M), with matching support from the Swedish Transport Administration as part of the national infrastructure plan, to deepen the fairway to Skandia container terminal from 13.5m to 17.5m maximum.
