Hutchison Ports Stockholm has announced a new service with a direct connection between Rotterdam and its terminal at Norvik will commence this November.
Holmen Skog will be the first forestry company in Sweden to use Golden Bullet 2, touted by rail company Green Cargo AB as the most efficient roundwood timber wagon on the market. The rail freight company has set up a dedicated organisation for the shipper to ensure flexibility, reliability and frequency as demanded.
The Port of Gothenburg (GHAB) and energy company Statkraft are planning to invest SEK60M (US$6.6M) in a green hydrogen (GH2) production facility at the port, with operations due to commence in 2023. A preliminary study is currently being conducted with the focus primarily on safety aspects. It is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2022.
A new rail freight terminal for timber has opened in Rundvik, Swsseden. Financed by the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, the Swedish Transport Administration, the Västerbotten Region and the local Nordmaling Municipality, the SEK57M (US$6.6M) facility caters mainly for shipments made by SCA Forest.
The environmental impact assessment report for the Skandia Gateway project has been completed, and the Swedish Maritime Administration and Gothenburg Port Authority (GHAB) have submitted permit applications and an EIA to the Land and Environment Court in Vänersborg.
The web portal being developed by Wabtec and the Port of Los Angeles, and its business model to commercialise data exchange, has found its first customer in Europe.
