The news that DPAG is bidding US$1.3 bill (E1.5 bill) to increase its stake in DHL from 25 to 75 per cent (with the balance retained by Lufthansa) comes just a month after the European Commission decided to open formal proceedings against it for alleged abuse of dominant position. DPAG faces charges of predatory pricing and unfair practices in the parcels delivery market while its own domestic leters market was protected.
