ETE group for Cape Verde?

Transinsular, part of Portugal’s GRUPO ETE, is now calling Gambia and Guinea-Conacry, following the recent implementation of a regular southbound call in Algeciras

The Lince Class service from Transinsular, a Grupo ETE company, will start to call Total Terminal International Algeciras from 23rd August, opening a direct link between Cape Verde and the Spanish mainland, which will also serve as a cargo transshipment hub for the Mediterranean

ETE Group shipping company Transinsular has introduced the “LINCE CLASS” service, claimed as the fastest maritime connection between Cape Verde, (Leixões, Lisbon and Las Palmas. In addition, to complement Lince, ETE will provide inter-island ‘ATOBÁ’ cabotage services, connecting Praia, Mindelo, Sal and Boavista with African proximity markets such as Guinea-Bissau and Mauritania

The Québec Port Authority (QPA) has announced plans to build a new deepwater container terminal in Québec City, at the site of its Beauport 2020, on the north side of the St Lawrence River.

Italian business interests are reportedly prepared to invest up to US$100M to build a new cargo handling terminal at Georgia’s Black Sea port of Poti. According to Pino Musolino, president of the North Adriatic Seaport Authority (Venice Porto Marghera and Chioggia), the project is aimed at expanding the port’s annual handling capacity by 50 Mtpa.

The Marseille-Fos port authority is making a further 50-ha of space available for development at the Feuillane logistics park, close to the Fos container terminals. The initiative marks growing demand for large-scale warehousing, a trend that is being echoed in nearby Distriport.
