Milan-Munich container rail shuttle

Contship Italia’s Rail Hub at Milan-Melzo is now connected to Munich Riem terminal with a three pairs/week service operated by Kombiverkeher, with MII as the rail haulier

The service is operated by Kombiverkehr in collaboration with MII (Mercitalia Intermodale) as rail haulier.

 

Northbound departures are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and transit time is less than 48 hours, according to Contship Italia. The service caters for 9ft 6in high cubes and has P400 clearance for trailers. Hazardous cargoes can also be carried.

 

The service caters for Munich-Northern Italy traffic, but as Melzo is Contship Italia’s steel wheel hub for container traffic, it also opens up opportunities for South German-Asia traffic over north Italian ports.
