EFIP elects Ports of Vienna’s Friedrich Lehr; new CFO for Long Beach; new operations head for ABP Humber Ports
Santiago Garcia-Milà (left), Deputy General Manager for Strategy and Commercial of the Port of Barcelona, was re-elected President of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) for the third consecutive term, at the close of the 32nd Annual Conference of the organisation held in Guangzhou (China) from 6 to 10 May. Garcia-Milà, who has presided over the organisation for the past four years, has a long track record in the organisation and was IAPH Vice President from 2009 to 2014, when he was elected president for the first time.
European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP): During EFIP’s AGM held in Aalborg, Denmark on 3rd May Friedrich Lehr was elected as the association’s President He succeeded Roland Hörner, who was President from 2016. Lehr has been the Managing Director of the Port of Vienna since 2011. He is also Chairman of the Austrian Public Ports and President of Pro Danube Austria since 2013.
The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved the selection of Wei Chi as Director of Finance. Chi has returned to the Port of Long Beach after working for several years as Deputy Executive Director, Comptroller for Los Angeles World Airports, the city agency that operates Los Angeles International Airport.
Associated British Ports has appointed Adam Grater as the new Head of Operations for the Humber, with effect from 1st August. Most recently Operations Support Director for Euroports in the Netherlands, Grater has over 20 years’ experience in managing port operations around the world. The four ports of the Humber will now have a single Head of Operations, reporting to Regional Director, Simon Bird.
Denis Petropoulos has been elected Chairman of the Baltic Exchange Council with effect from 1st June, 2019. He replaces Duncan Dunn, who has held the position since January 2018. Petropoulos was a founding partner of Braemar Tankers Ltd and remains a significant shareholder at Braemar Shipping Services PLC. He most recently headed up Braemar’s Singapore office for seven years, before returning to the UK. He joined the Council in January this year.
Kansas City, Mo., USA: Kansas City Southern has announced a reorganisation of its leadership teams for Chemical & Petroleum and Industrial & Consumer commodity groups. Previously serving as vice president energy, industrial development and innovation, Ginger Adamiak was appointed vice president energy and chemical products, adding chemical and petroleum in the US and Mexico to her responsibilities. She is based in Kansas City. Yesica Gloria Marrufo was promoted from assistant vice president sales for metals, industrial, forest products, chemicals, and petroleum to vice president sales and marketing for industrial and consumer products in the US and Mexico. She is based in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. The sales and marketing of these commodity groups were previously led by David Eaton, who was recently appointed vice president operations for Kansas City Southern de Mexico, S.A de CV.
