People on the move – new Chairman for SLPA

Kavan Ratnayaka has been appointed the new Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), with effect from 17th January. Prior to this appointment, Ratnayaka served the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and he is also a former Chairman of Associated Newspapers of Ceylon (Lake House).

Valencia, Spain: Óscar Magdalena, who has to date been director of Noatum Terminal Málaga, has been appointed director of Noatum Terminal Castellón, after spending three years at the helm of Noatum Terminal Málaga. Magdalena has more than 25 years of experience in the port sector, and is replacing Vicente Llorens who is retiring after a career spanning over 45 years. César Cegarra, who has to date been director of operations at Noatum Terminal Málaga, replaces Óscar Magdalena in the top post at Málaga.

Associated British Ports has appointed Marina Wyatt as new Chief Financial Officer. In this post she has replaced replacing Sebastian Bull, who has taken up the the new role of Managing Director, ABP Property Development.

 

The Clean Shipping Alliance (CSA) 2020 has contracted Maritime AMC (MAMCL), a UK-based association management company, to provide secretariat services, and appointed Ian Adams as its Executive Director. The membership body, whose members include more than 30 shipowning companies, was established last year to provide scientific-based information and research on the emissions abatement performance and environmental benefits of closed- and open-loop exhaust gas cleaning systems.

 

Hanover, Germany: Continental has appointed Reinhard Klant as the new Earthmoving product line manager for Commercial Specialty Tires (CST). Klant succeeds Christian Luther, who has recently taken over global responsibility for the technical customer services at Continental CST.

 

London, UK: Crane Worldwide Logistics has appointed Ivan Liso to Director Projects, EPC & Marine EMEIA and will lead the Global Specialized Solutions group for the EMEIA region.

 

The board of Xpediator, a provider of freight management services across the UK and Europe, has appointed Simon Youd as Group Head of M&A and Integration and to the Group’s operational board. Prior to joining Xpediator, Youd was a director of Woodland Group Ltd, the international logistic, freight forwarding and supply chain specialist.

Cranford, NJ, USA: The Containerization & Intermodal Institute has named Lisa LoManto Aurichio as Executive Director. She will assume the role held by Barbara Spector Yeninas, Executive Director since 1985, who has been named Senior Advisor. Ms. Aurichio will continue her position as President of BSY Associates, Inc, the international transportation marketing communications and special event agency founded by Yeninas in 1974. BSYA will continue as the CII Secretariat.
