Mexico as USA’s southern gate

For some time Mexico’s Pacific ports have been viewed as an alternative to the congested Los Angeles/ Long Beach cluster for access to the US southern tier. Congestion has eased, but it was only one of the drivers.There is hardly any space avaiable for port expansion on the NAWC range, unilke in Mexico, where the labour climate and labour costs are also much more attractive.
