ThyssenKrupp Steel (TKS) will use the Port of Mobile as the US entry port for slabs that will be produced at its new Brazilian slab mill in Sepetiba Bay from 2009 onwards. The deal follows the announcement from ThyssenKrupp AG in Duisburg that TKS will build a US$3.7B steel mill in Mobile County. Rotterdam has been selected as the port of entry for the Brazilian slabs for TKS’s German mills (see p35). A total of 250,000 slabs will be transported every year, 150,000 to the USA and 100,000 to Euro
