Grimaldi launches new Italy-Turkey RoRo service
NewsStarting from 14 September, Grimaldi will deploy two RoRo vessels on the new regular service between Trieste and Ambarli (Istanbul).
Yilport hosts 8400 TEU ship
Yilport Container Terminal has handled what it claims is the biggest ship of any type yet to enter Izmit Bay
MSC’s Northern Jubilee has an loa of 332m and a width of 43m and its declared container capacity is 8400 TEU. The 94,419 gt vessel was turned round at Yilport in 17 hours, although the number of containers exchanged is not known.
Yilport Container Terminal aims to achieve annual capacity of 2M TEU by 2014. It is touted as the most important port investment in Izmit Bay and “the strongest applicant for becoming the gateway not only for the immediate region but also for Black Sea.”
