MSC boss slams Italy’s ports

In a blow to the prestige and standing of the Italian ports and shipping industry, Gianluigi Aponte, the boss of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), the world’s second biggest container line, has turned his back on further investments in his own home country and warned that tariffs need to be lowered if transhipment over Gioia Tauro (Medcenter) and Cagliari (CICT) is to continue.
