Djibouti to up capacity

Doraleh Container Terminal in the Horn of Africa is to be expanded to handle 3M TEU/year, up from 1M TEU/year at present. Located in the tiny state of Djibouti, about 10 km south of the Port of Djibouti, the facility was developed by DP World, largely in order to act as a transhipment port for vessels passing through the Suez Canal, although it also handles most seaborne trade for landlocked Ethiopia.
