High water level impacts cargo transport on Rhine

Netherlands-based intermodal barge operator Contargo has won the tender to operate a new terminal in Valenciennes in northern France. The facility will be operated by Contargo Container Escaut Service (CCES), which recently introduced a new service over the Port of Dunkirk. Contargo is a leading barge and terminal operator in the Rhine system and its latest initiative could be an important step forward for Dunkirk as an intermodal gateway.
