The Port of Virginia is struggling to cope with a surge in container traffic. It handled over 220,000 TEU in October, up 7% on last year and the port’s busiest month ever. “October was the fourth consecutive month of volume exceeding 200,000 units [TEU], so the volume growth is strong,” said John F. Reinhart, CEO and executive director of the Virginia Port Authority (VPA).
