Carriers invoke Force Majeure as ships begin to pile up off East and Gulf coasts
NewsContainer shipping companies, including CMA CGM, Ocean Network Express (ONE), and COSCO, are invoking force majeure due to the impacts of ongoing ILA strike.
Marseilles has started to handle weekly banana imports from the Ivory Coast under a new reefer container deal with CMA CGM worth 80 TEU per week. The first vessel call was on 23 March. The move follows a decision by the Canavese Group, a leading French fruit and vegetables specialist, to return to the eastern harbour area of Marseilles. Previously, the business was shipped over Antwerp, Dunkirk and Fos.
