MSC to increase size gap, CMA CGM to surpass Maersk
NewsMSC is poised to increase size gap over CMA CGM, and Maersk will become the second-largest carrier; Hapag-Lloyd aims to maintain top-5 status.
Marseilles has started to handle weekly banana imports from the Ivory Coast under a new reefer container deal with CMA CGM worth 80 TEU per week. The first vessel call was on 23 March. The move follows a decision by the Canavese Group, a leading French fruit and vegetables specialist, to return to the eastern harbour area of Marseilles. Previously, the business was shipped over Antwerp, Dunkirk and Fos.
