An addition has been announced to the new Mombasa-Kampala railway – a 120 km branch line to Naivasha in the Rift Valley. China Road and Bridge Corporation, which is already developing the main US$3.6B railway, will also build the Naivasha spur line, while China’s Exim Bank will provide funding, although the cost is unknown.
