‘Reefer tunnels’ at CTA

New above-ground ‘tunnels’ at HHLA’s CTA Hamburg facility allow reefer maintenance staff to access the blocks on foot, following the completion of a €1.5M project. A total of five tunnels, built by HHLA affiliate Container-und Chassis- Reparatur- Gesellschaft mbH (HCCR), have gone into operation at CTA. Built out of old containers, the tunnels also provide additional storage capacity above them, equivalent to a quarter of a storage block.
