DP World Antwerp Gateway has started a €75M expansion programme at its Deurganckdok terminal, to boost annual capacity by around 0.6M TEU to 2.8M TEU. The ambitious programme is due for completion by mid-2017, and includes a dedicated barge terminal and an 8-ha increase in backland, taking the terminal footprint to 88-ha. The €21M initial phase became operational in mid-November, and centres on three new stacking modules, worked by an additional six Terex Gottwald ASCs.
