SA plans to restructure ports

South Africa appears to be taking the first tentative steps towards liberalising the state’s involvement in the port sector. This follows president Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement that Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) is to be restructured as an independent, albeit wholly owned, subsidiary of Trans et SOC Ltd.
