WEC Lines expands Port of Liverpool coverage

The Port of Greenock secures a new weekly container service linking Scotland and Türkiye, while the port’s owner, Peel Ports, is investing in two new ship-to-shore cranes.

The solar array is expected to be the largest of its kind in the UK and will generate up to 25% of the Port’s annual electricity needs.

These containers will be included in the company’s rotation over the coming months, most likely also adding refrigerated containers to its deep-sea operations.

The Dutch-based shortsea door-to-door operator is entering the reefer container market.

Stena Line has confirmed plans to launch a new freight service between Dublin and Birkenhead (Liverpool) starting mid-February 2024. In addition, Stena Line has signed a deal with Peel Ports to continue calling at the Port of Heysham for the next 77 years

Peel Ports began work to extend the warehouse at its North 3 Canada Dock by 12,000 ft2 earlier this year and the new space is set to be ready this December
