Spain’s port of Tarragona has acquired two surveillance drones for emergency management and environmental control
The drones were supplied by BaysanQuality Pro SL, following a public tender, and are designed to complement each other. One is a Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced unit, featuring a high-definition camera, a thermal camera, focus control and speaker. The other is a Mavic 300 RTK unit, with high-definition camera, infrared camera and thermal imaging.
They are managed using the latest digital controls and command systems, with real-time imaging to support decision-making in emergency situations, such as silo spills. The Port of Tarragona is the centre of Spain’s main chemicals cluster and is the only public port in Spain to have ISO 22320 Emergency Management Accreditation.
The drones will be operated by the port police, following technical training by state-owned Senasa (Services and Studies for Air Navigation and Aeronautical Safety).
