Busy times for reefer machinery builders

Reefer demand has picked up during 2011 as the production dip of 2009-10 has been made good and shipping companies have resumed investment. This has spelt good news for the machinery manufacturing sector, with a record 140,000 reefer units forecast to be built this year, compared with 97,500 in 2010 and just 52,500 in the recession year of 2009. The previous annual record – set in 2007 – was 117,500 units.
