Megacombi for cars

Spain-based intermodal rail operator Transfesa has succsessfully exploited the Megacombi swap body design for several years to move automotive parts including high cube racks for leading car makers across the Pyrenees. However, the very nature of the traffic and the need for quick repositioning makes it difficult to obtain backhaul loads. In some cases, of course, the car maker has a two-way parts flows, but nevertheless inevitably most megacombi units are returned empty.
