Scandlines back in for ferries

Following the collapse of a plan to order two new ferries from STX Finland (Rauma) for the Gedser-Rostock crossing, Scandlines is again considering the option of buying two partiallybuilt ferries that, in 2012, it rejected from [the now] bankrupt German shipyard P&S Werften because the ferries failed to comply with its specifications – specifically the ships were “over draft” and could not, therefore, access, the Port of Gedser.
