Prologis has laid the foundation stone of a turnkey building for Cedilec, the logistics arm of France’s second biggest hypermarket chain E Lelcerc, in the Le Hode Logistics Park of the Port of Le Havre

The new DC will occupy 17,400 m2 in its first phase, which will come on stream in January 2016. Eventually the warehouse complex will occupy 74,000 m2, designed and built to BREEAM Good (French HQE) environmental certification.

"Cedilec has been a customer of the Port of Le Havre since 1994," said Vincent Malfère, deputy CEO of HAROPA-Port of Le Havre, "and has chosen to set up up its sole French distribution hub here. We are pleased to see E Lelcerc group create of the biggest logistics platforms in France here.”

Cedilec manages the entire import supply chain for E Lelcerc. Today it operates 100,000 m² of warehouses including 55,000 m² on its own under AOT agreement (Authorisation of Temporary Occupation) with HAROPA-Port of Le Havre and 45,000m² with its partner PROLOGIS. This year around 20,000 TEU will be handled over the facilities in Le Havre.
