“The agreement is in line with our industrial pan, which is based on maximising the creation of existing terminals and realising new multimodal hubs, technically advanced and in keeping with our environmental commitments.”

The new agreement follows a collaboration accord signed by the two parties in September last year.

The MoU was signed earlier this week by Sabrina De Filippis, MD of Mercitalia Logistics and Giuseppe Prudente, Chief Logistics Officer of MSC abdPresident of Medlog, in the presence of Luigi Ferraris, MD of Gruppo FS and Gianluigi Aponte, Chairman of MSC Group.

The joint venture will be owned 51% by Mercitalia Logistics and 49% by Medlog, MSC’s intermodal logistics arm in Italy.

“The MoU signed with such an important intermodal confirms the commitment that FS Group has becoming a large-scale intermodal player in Europe,” said Sabrina De Filippis.
