Georgia Ports Authority handled 436,000 TEU in March

When all work is complete, Ocean Terminal’s annual capacity will grow from 300,000 twenty-foot equivalent container units to more than 1.5 million TEUs.

In a bid to reduce truck traffic in local neighbourhoods and cut levels of pollution, Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) is to invest US$29M in the construction of a new overpass.

The Geogia Ports Authority (GPA) has completed work on modernising and expanding the Garden City Terminal (GCT) at the port of Savannah. It means all berths at GCT are now fully operational, allowing the facility to handle more ships and cargo. Its overall handling capacity has been increased by 750,000 TEU a year.
