Hydrogen RTG takes a bow
NewsThe “world’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered rubber-tyred gantry” could be a better zero-emissions option for terminal operators at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach than ERTGs.
Control Techniques, part of Emerson Industrial Automation, has installed its propr ietary RIS.GA (RISparmio GAsolio) diesel fuel saving system on 28 RTGs and mobile harbour cranes at South Asia Gateway Terminals (Pvt) Ltd (SAGT) in Sri Lanka.
The installations are already producing significant fuel savings, says Control Techniques, and will provide a return on investment in less than two years at today’s diesel prices in Sri Lanka.
