Battery operated spreader from ZPMC

News

ZPMC delivered a new ‘Cableless Tilting Spreader’ to Weifang port in China.

The spreader is designed for tilting containers to unload loose-flowing dry bulk cargoes.

ZPMC has built tilting spreaders before, but this new design features a battery power pack to drive the hydraulic tilting system. The battery can be charged on the crane, or swapped out for a fully charged battery if continuous operation is required.

Using what it referred to as “advanced control components”, ZPMC claimed the new spreader can reduce energy consumption by 20%. The spreader has an independent control system, which is operated by remote control. ZPMC believes the spreader can meet the requirements of any container tilting operation while at the same time reducing operating costs.
