The first vehicle in an initial batch of US-specification serial production GAUSSIN ATM 38T ‘FULL ELEC’ electric yard tractors arrived at an Amazon facility on 6 July 2023. Following the order for 329 electric yard tractors, GAUSSIN views this as a significant milestone for its revenue growth and global expansion.

The electric yard tractors will be initially produced at GAUSSIN’s French manufacturing facility in Saint-Vallier, which currently has a capacity to produce 2,400 electric yard tractors each year.

GAUSSIN North America is also making strategic strides towards transitioning to local fulfilment, with plans to inaugurate a new manufacturing facility in the US in 2024. This, said GAUSSIN, will further streamline the delivery process for North American customers and partners. GAUSSIN is expected to transition to full local manufacturing within three years with an industrial and commercial partner.

The ATM 38T FULL ELEC was developed for the US market and features a NMC battery (Nickel Manganese Cobalt), which can be recharged in under 30 minutes to provide up to 10 hours of autonomy in all weather conditions. The tractor is purpose-designed for trailer logistics, with a single wheel per side on the rear axle, which has an 18t capacity. With two traction motors the 4×2 driveline delivers a maximum payload capacity of 38t and a top speed of 25km/h.
