China’s ports see 8.1% YoY volume growth in early 2024
NewsLast year, all the Chinese ports handled 16.97 Bt, having exceeded their 2022 volume by nearly 8%. Shanghai throughputs surged, Hong Kong saw a downfall.
Mixed results for Chinese builders..
China International Marine Containers (CIMC), the world’s largest container manufacturer, has reported a profit of Yuan248.17 mill (US$30 mill) for the first six months of this year, down about 20 percent over the same period last year. Turnover fell 19.8 percent to Yuan3.3 bill (US$399 mill) as container sales decreased 9 percent to 263,000 TEU.
