New low profile tag from Savi

IDENTEC SOLUTIONS AG and Savi Technology have entered into a “worldwide mutual reseller agreement”.

The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) is taking a series of initiatives to develop standards and definitions designed to assist suppliers and terminal operators in selecting and deploying technology.

Savi Networks has abruptly closed, posting a notice on its website saying “As of November 1st, 2010, Savi Networks LLC has ceased operations.”

RFID solutions provider Savi Technology Inc, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, has reached a settlement with AeroScout Inc that resolves a lawsuit between the two companies concerning Savi’s patented low-frequency Radio RFID technology. Terms of the settlement, which was reached in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, were not disclosed.

Global container security will be enhanced further during 2008 following the final ratification of ISO/PAS 17712 and its adoption as a minimum requirement for all oceanborne shipments to/from the US from October.

Though it has worked with both Savi Technology and GE Security on the development of a “smart and secure” container, China International Marine Containers (CIMC) would appear to have gone its own way with the version it plans to offer to the market.
