Relief as merger plans falter?

The proposed sale of Transfennica for a net E67 mill to Finnlines has fallen through – at least for the time being (for background, see WorldCargo News, July 2000, p8 and October 2000, p34). The conditions laid down by the Finnish competition authorities were not acceptable to Fnnlines, so the sale was cancelled.
