Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, plans to develop a commercial hub at Al Hamra Island, according to Shaikh Ahmed Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, the new head of the Emirate’s Customs and Port Authority. He has promised to kick off the new project by 2004 and bring improvements to existing shipping facilities at Mina Saqr.
