Another testing year for dry box builders

The Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL), the leading trade association for the container and chassis leasing industries, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
The international container leasing industry developed in the 1960s to provide an alternative source of equipment to the ocean transportation system and container and chassis lessors soon recognised that it could be beneficial to international commerce if an association of leasing companies were established to address safety, quality, customs and tax matters.
