Cimolai set for expansion

Italy’s Industrie Meccaniche Cimolai SpA has taken over the crane and heavy equipment fabrication and load-out facilities at Monfalcone, in north east Italy, that were formerly owned by Fantuzzi Noell group and were used to fabricate and ship out large Reggiane rail-mounted and mobile harbour cranes.

The facility was taken over by Terex Cranes when it acquired the Fantuzzi Noell group in 2009, but was eventually deemed surplus to requirements. Around 60 former Terex employees at the facility are now covered by the state redundancy fund (Cassa di Integrazione).
