CO2 reefer breakthrough
Maersk Line has ordered 100 Carrier Transicold NaturaLINE reefers, which use the natural refrigerant CO2 . Carrier Transicold launched NaturaLINE using CO2 in 2013, and since then has been engaged in commercial trials with container shipping lines. Carrier is the only one of the four main reefer machinery manufacturers to publicly endorse CO2 as its next-generation low-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerant.
